Ask Momma Wednesday #5

Please go check out Nomie's 3 Monsters for the details of this hop!

Ok, so here is my third week of this hop - and I'm honestly having trouble finding a question! But here we go:

We're trying for number two now - and while I'm extremely excited and ready to be pregnant again (not yet, just looking toward the future), I'm also nervous about how to handle a toddler while going through the possible sickness I went through with him. Just as a bit of background, I was sick for 24 weeks, as in the all day/all night kind of sick. My middle of the night bathroom trips were double duty pee/puke.

Now that I've got your attention, for those of you who have 2 kids or more, and experienced any kind of sickness though pregnancy, how did you deal with the subsequent pregnancies while caring for a little one???

  1. I'm a new follower. I have 2 kids and we are in the near future going to start trying for #3. I can't really answer your question there is an 11 yr age difference so my daughter could care for herself during my sick phase, well at least enough to get through it.

I will say my first I was horrible sick all the time so much so I lost 15 lbs by 20 weeks and couldn't keep anything down. I was put in the hospital on an IV. But that was 11 years ago, now they give zofran or phenegran. I don't know how you feel about taking meds while pregnant. I was so afraid of another pregnancy like my first I took them at the first sign of sickness.

They also say every pregnancy is different. My second one although I was sick feeling I only actually threw up twice. I personally thinking feeling like you need to throw up and not being able to is worse then actually doing it. I mean when you actually do it you do get a second of relief feeling.

So who knows maybe both of us will luck out with our little ones and next pregnancy not get sick at all.

  3. Hi, I'm a new follower from Weekend Hop.
I have 2 girls, the first pregnancy nothing I really didn't believe I was pregnant until she started moving because I didnt have a single symptom no boob aches, no fatigue, no sickness nada! most boring pregnancy ever!
So I wasn't worried when we found out #2 was on the way. Well that changed quick I was sick all day/ all night just like you for 22 weeks. It wasn't fun really chasing after my first and trying to keep her entertained and happy, she was 2 at the time. I think your body just clicks into pregnant mode and your able to function on a level that you normally don't, your on double duty.
Also there is no reason to think that you will be sick again. I had two completely different pregnancies and both was pregnant with girls both times. I hope you end up having a sick free pregnancy this time around.
We are thinking about #3 now and I'm not too worried about being sick again. Just make sure Hubby is on bored that if your really having a rough day he's on toddler duty!
Best of luck! Looking forward to reading more.
