As for me, For those of you who stay home or work part time, how often do you get your kids together with friends?

When T was smaller, it was a lot easier to find time to gather with buddies and enjoy time to play, but now that he's nearing two, and NEEDS more of that, I just can't seem to get myself together to find many play dates! I feel like my life has gotten so hectic and when there is spare time, he needs a nap. Some weeks seem to be better than others, and we can get together with buds a couple of times during that week. Other times, he's stuck with me!

(adding this part a little later - thought I'd mention that I teach most mornings & evenings, so we're often left with little awake time in the middle of the day.)

What do you do to ensure your little ones get good friend time in?

  2. Hmm. Not sure. I do daycare and Ozzy plays with those kids. Maybe set up a play date at a local place such as the park.

  4. Glad to find a blog on the list that actually had a post and not a link to their home page! Anyhooo... My kids are school age but I would suggest scheduling play dates in advance if that's what the two of you like to do. That way whatever is going on you know in advance that you have a play date and to not put to much on your plate that day;)

  5. I have the same problem with my 2 year old son. He's stuck home all day with me while i try to work part time on my computer and it is a hassle getting play dates as often as he needs. My sister in law and I have started a tradition that we do at least 2 times a week that helps, where she will pick my son and I up in her van and we drive in to town and get the kids ice cream cones... or sometimes for feed the ducks at the park. It's usually only 20-30 minutes, but it gets us both out of the house and is a little mini break from work =)
